3.75% at Gather & Gather

Catering members working for Gather & Gather at the Capita sites in Preston Brook, Glasgow. Leeds and Bury have voted overwhelmingly in favour of 3.75 per cent across the board and fully consolidated pay settlement.

The deal raises salaries to the Government’s new national living wage level of £7.20 in Preston Brook, Glasgow and Bury -but has also been applied to members in Leeds, where pay rates have traditionally been higher, as a result of CWU pressure on the company to apply the increase consistently across the union’s bargaining unit.

Assistant secretary Sally Bridge said: “This is good news all round. With RPI standing at just 1.1 per cent in December, 3.75 per cent represents a real-term increase for all our members in Gather & Gather, and the fact the rise is backdated to January 1 means it comes into effect three months before the national living wage’ formally takes effect in April.

The rise applies to all members in Gather & Gather whatever their age, even though the Government’s national living wage’ – actually a premium rate of the Minimum Wage – technically only applies to those aged 25 or over.
