76% YES from TV Licensing members in pay deal ballot

Postal, Capita

Over three-quarters vote for CWU-negotiated agreement which will raise wages for TVL workers at sites in Bristol and Darwen…

“I’m glad that our hard-working TVL members will get their pay rise in their October salaries,” said acting deputy general secretary postal Andy Furey this afternoon, reacting to the result of the membership ballot.

Around 450 workers – employed by service provider Capita at offices in Bristol and Darwen, Lancashire – benefit from the agreement, which include a pay increase from £10.07 to £11.12 per hour for the year 2023 for around 300 members, and a £1,450 consolidated pay increase (pro-rata for part-timers) for members already earning above the Real Living Wage (RLW).

“Now that the vote has taken place, and the deal endorsed by the membership, the new pay rates will apply in full with immediate effect and will be paid in employees’ October salaries,” Andy explained. “And their October pay packets will also include backpay with effect from 1st April of this year.

“Thanks to all our members and reps at Capita TVL and now we start looking forward to, and preparing for, the next annual pay review date of 1st April 2024.”
