Capita TVL/BBC, VM02 and Tesco Mobile workers vote to accept inflation-busting deals
Capita, VMO2 January 14 2025CWU members contracted by Capita at TV Licensing (TVL), Tesco Mobile and VM02 have all accepted above-inflation pay rises.
Tesco Mobile workers voted by 97.2%, and VM02 workers by 90.2%, to accept a pay rise outlined here.
Meanwhile, TVL workers who achieved an offer after Acas talks following workers voting overwhelmingly for strike action – was accepted by 70% of the membership.
The appropriate figures at Capita have been notified of the result, with the next pay reviews for all three companies being now set for April 2026.
Addressing TVL members, CWU Assistant Secretary Andy Furey said: “The reality is that this two-year pay agreement was only ever possible once members voted overwhelmingly to take industrial action.
“Thankfully, Capita recognised the strength of feeling amongst our members and therefore it wasn’t necessary to activate the industrial action ballots. I would like to thank members for their support and unity in achieving this positive outcome during very challenging negotiations.”
Addressing Tesco Mobile and VM02 members, CWU National Officer Tracey Fussey said: “Workers have voted in overwhelming numbers for an agreement that recognises their worth and economically secures them for the coming year ahead.
“The simplicity of an uncomplicated increase has been welcomed.
“Our members have worked relentlessly through major change and we are pleased that that much needed financial certainty has been achieved.
“I would like to congratulate them on their result, their patience and their engagement during negotiations.”
