London Recruits – A film about the struggle and solidarity with Anti-Apatheid Movement in South Africa
Young Workers April 29 2016CWU Youth was delighted to welcome two special visitors to our stand at conference this week: James (left) and Gordon are the production team behind CWU-backed film London recruits. The film tells the story of young, white, British anti-apartheid activists who smuggled themselves into racist South Africa to give vital support to the then-underground ANC at arguably its greatest time of need. General Secretary Dave Ward described it as “an unwritten chapter in the Anti- Apartheid struggle, The main themes of the film – of international solidarity, resistance against oppression and imaginative, direct campaigning – are all part of the CWU’s core values.”
