Stop Allvo ‘tec’ing advantage of Field Engineers now furlough has come to an end!
The CWU is calling on Allvotec to retract their proposals to impose a new contract, which would include a ‘lay-off and short term working’ clause. This gives management the right to temporarily lay-off Field Service Engineers without pay and/or to reduce their working hours.
At the same time, Allvotec also wants to create greater flexibility by extending working hours and implement compulsory weekend working.
Why is this important?
Throughout the pandemic Allvotec technology giant took full advantage of the Government funded furlough scheme. They did not pay the 20% top up for furloughed employees and for those engineers who remained in work they had to cover larger areas, taking on more jobs.
In a cynical move aimed at replacing the furlough cost savings, which they have benefited from, Allvotec now wants to reward their loyal employees who have stood by them during these unprecedented times with an insecure working model and extended working hours.
